IRON CAPITAL OF THE WORLD

Merthyr Tydfil , South Wales was once hailed as the iron capital of the world, a titan of the Industrial Revolution that saw the biggest iron furnaces in the world, built on industry and immigration the town has faced vast changes in the last 50 years, with all major industry leaving the town, it is a place that often feels warped by time.

I grew up in Merthyr and it has a very fond place in my heart, the people are like nowhere else in the world, and make the town really special. Meerthryr tends to often get misrepresented by the media, portraying it as something it isnt, this project is an exploration of the place I call home and the people that make it.
